GreetingGood morning! Happy Mother’s Day to all of our beautiful moms!! It is a real honor to share my message with you this morning…and always very humbling. As I prepare my words to challenge and encourage you, I find myself especially challenged. I have had to do a self-examination this week in preparation for this morning. In January, when preparing for our ladies brunch, the agreed upon theme was “Legacy of love.” As I have prayed about this morning’s message, I was drawn further into this theme and felt impressed to focus my message on the Legacy you are creating for your children and your children’s children. A legacy is defined as “something handed down from an ancestor or predecessor; from the past.” To leave a legacy you are setting up those who come behind you to continue where you leave off. You are living and leading your life with tomorrow in mind as well as today. Leaving a legacy is the idea that you are living each day to the best of your ability, following God’s plan, purpose and desire for you; and you are preparing your children and others along the way. This morning I want to share some key components of our life as a mother that will help ensure we are leaving a legacy for our children; one that will lead them to Christ and to live a life “worthy of [their] calling.” Like the song that was so popular many years ago - May all who come behind us find us faithful, may the fire of our devotion light their way, may the footprints that we leave, lead them to believe… We have a great responsibility - let us leave to those behind the heritage of faithfulness passed on through Godly lives. I want to leave a legacy, Dr. Sondra
